DolFUN Swim
Hi Blue Heron Families,
I know you receive a lot of emails during our short swim season, however, this email is very near and dear to my heart. I hope you will take the time to read it and participate.

We have exciting news to share!
On Friday, June 20th, we will participate in our annual Dol-FUN Swim in support of the Nashville Dolphins. The Nashville Dolphins is a nonprofit that provides FREE water safety and aquatics programming to special needs adults and children with no age-out policy. Not only does this help combat the alarming statistic of drowning being a leading cause of accidental death in the special needs community, but it also allows our participants to experience the joy and pride of being on a swim team, just like you!
Did You Know?
In 2023, the Westhaven Blue Herons were the top fundraising team of the Williamson County Swim League for this event! Let’s earn this title back in 2025!
When is the Dol-FUN Swim?
Friday, June 20th, our swimmers will swim laps during their normal practice time. We’ll have refreshments, play music & have a fun day with friends. The Nashville Dolphins will be joining us during the teenagers' practice from 11-12. We would love to have everyone join us & encourage their swimmers if you are available.
How does the Dol-FUN Swim work?
Each swimmer will have a counting sheet. Our coaches will keep track of how many laps each swimmer swims. We ask our swimmers to set a goal for how many laps they think they can swim during their practice time (8-under: 30 minutes, 9-12-year-olds: 45 minutes, 13-over: 1 hour). For reference, our younger swimmers may complete between 5-15 laps, but our more experienced swimmers may complete 30+ laps in the pool. Every year we are amazed by what our swimmers accomplish! It's a special day for everyone.
What can our swimmers do to help the Nashville Dolphins?
Swimmers ask family members and/or friends to sponsor them with a donation or per lap amount. Our goal is $25 per swimmer. You can collect cash or checks from your donors, or they can donate online using the link https://nashvilledolphins.org/
Will swimmers win prizes for participating?
YES! The boy & girl from each age group who swims the most laps will win a Sweethaven gift card.
In addition, the Dolphins will award prizes to the top three individuals on each team who raise the most money. The top 2 money earners from each team will be invited to participate in a Unified Relay with Nashville Dolphin swimmers at City Meet at lunchtime on Saturday, June 28th. There is also a traveling trophy that will be given to the top fundraising team in the Nashville Swim League!
